Des Marnane, Tipperary's Historian

brass bar

One of the most knowledgeable historians of County Tipperary happens to be a Marnane.

Denis G. Marnane, better known as Des Marnane, is a teacher in Tipperary Town.

But he is equally well known as an historian and writer on matters dealing with County Tipperary.

His book, "Land and Violence: A History of West Tipperary from 1660," was a valuable tool in the preparation of "It's Not Such A Long Way To Tipperary."

Through our link with the County Tipperary Historical Society, of which Des Marnane serves as secretary, we hope to include more information about this distant relative. (And distant he is; we have not been able to establish a connection yet.)
