Friday, August 2 7:30 AM

Afternoon:

  • First Murnane/Marnane Irish Open Golf Tournament at Clonmel Golf Club; Limited to first 28 golfers to sign up; limited club rental available
  • Private Tour of Waterford Crystal
  • Or simply get over jet lag at Minella's Leisure Club

Sight-seeing in Clonmel, Cashel.

See:

  • Rock of Cashel, where St. Patrick converted the Kings of Munster (we have a private tour);
  • Clonmel, quaint shops in one of Ireland’s oldest towns.

 

7:00 PM
  • Banquet at Bru Boru Heritage Center, at the foot of the Rock of Cashel; featuring the Bru Boru Heritage Performers. If you liked Riverdance, you'll love Bru Boru.
10:30 PM Visit some of Clonmel's Finest Pubs!
Saturday, August 3 Daytime
  • Private tour of Cahir Castle, only a few miles from the Murnane homestead;
  • Visit the Murnane Family Homestead at Cappauniac, County Tipperary.

See:

  • The house in which our ancestors were born and lived;
  • The farm, still operated by our relatives;
  • Glen of Aherlow, one of Ireland’s most scenic spots;
  • Galtee Mountains, hike to the top;
  • Kiladriffe Cemetery, burial place for dozens of Murnanes and Britts; we'll place a wreath to honor our ancestors.
Early
Evening
  • Light dinner in Bansha, followed by visit to  The Foot, a local pub overlooking the Galtee Mountains (it will still be daylight; sunset is at 9:22 on August 3)
9:00 PM
  • Maybe another pub crawl in Clonmel!
Sunday, August 4 Morning
  • Mass at Kilmoyler Catholic Church, parish of the Murnane clan for years.
Afternoon Relax, and Shopping Opportunities.
Late Afternoon
  • Indoor Murnane Family Picnic, Aherlow House Hotel, in the Glen of Aherlow.
Evening
  • Entertainment, featuring Top Irish singer Pat Marnane, a distant cousin, and his popular group.
Monday, August 5 Daytime
  • Leisurely (and scenic) drive to Cork,
    Visit to Blarney Castle (kiss the stone?)
  • Great Shopping Opportunites at
      Blarney Woolen Mills, other shops
Evening
  • Welcome to Cork Banquet at Kingsley Hotel, on the River Lee.
Tuesday, August 6 Daytime
  • Visit Cobh, the departure point for Irish heading to the United States;
  • Ferry ride through Cobh Harbor to
  • Historic Kinsale, on the Atlantic Coast
Evening
  • Farewell Dinner at Harbor-side restaurant in historic, scenic Kinsale.
Wednesday, August 7 Return Flights to US or continue your trip.
